As of May 6, 2026, there are no Category 2 or Category 3 open burning prohibitions in effect within the Peace River Regional District outside of Kakwa Provincial Park.

We join the Prince George Fire Centre in urging residents to use caution with open burning during this high-risk period between snowmelt and green-up.
