  • Statement From Vice Chair Leonard Hiebert On The Tragedy At Tumbler Ridge Secondary School

    Dawson Creek, BC – February 11, 2026 – The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is profoundly saddened by the tragic events of February 10, 2026, at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. On behalf of the PRRD Board of Directors, I offer our sincerest condolences to everyone affected by this devastating loss.

    The District of Tumbler Ridge is part of our regional family and this tragedy is felt deeply across the entire Peace region. Our hearts go out to the children, staff, family, first responders, community, Mayor Darryl Krakowka, Council and every resident of Tumbler Ridge as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. We grieve alongside you.

  • 2026 Board and Committee Meeting Schedule

    The Regional Board has approved the 2026 Peace River Regional District Board and Committee Meeting schedule. The Regional District holds one to two Board meetings each month, held on Thursdays starting at 10am (MST) unless otherwise noted. 

  • PRRD Board of Variance

    The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is accepting applications from interested residents wishing to serve on the PRRD Board of Variance. The Regional Board will be appointing three members for a three-year term, ending in 2026.

  • Development Applications for Lands Within the Old Fort Study Area

    Until further notice, and at the resolution of the Regional Board, the Peace River Regional District will consider, but is likely to reject or defer any application for Development Variance Permits, Temporary Use Permits, Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw Amendments and Zoning Bylaw Amendments for lands within the Old Fort Geohazard Study Area.
