PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given to the electors of the Peace River Regional District that nominations will be received for the following offices for a four year term:
One (1) Director representing Electoral Area B
One (1) Director representing Electoral Area C
One (1) Director representing Electoral Area D
One (1) Director representing Electoral Area E
Nominations will be received by the Chief Election Officer, or designate, from 9:00 am, September 1, 2026, until not later than 4:00 pm, September 11, 2026.

The Regional Board will consider amending the Board Procedure Bylaw, at the Regular Board Meeting August 13, 2026 to add an updated oath of office to the bylaw, and add an administrative fix clause to allow correction of small errors in bylaws.
Notice of Intent to Consider Zoning Amendment Application 26-001 at the Regional Board meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Dawson Creek office located at 1981 Alaska Avenue in Dawson Creek, BC. This Zoning Amendment is proposing to add "Camping Vehicle" and "Cabin" as permitted principal uses, to accommodate recreational uses and allow for "Accessory Building" as a permitted accessory use.
Notice of Intent to Consider Zoning Amendment 26-002 at the Regional Board meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Dawson Creek office located at 1981 Alaska Avenue in Dawson Creek, BC. This Zoning Amendment is proposing to add "Work Camp" as a permitted principal use on the property. The proposal is also applying to amend the Rear Parcel Line Setback from 7.0m to 6.0m, to allow for sewage and fresh-water tanks that are accessory to the work camp.

The Regional Board will consider amending the Board Procedure Bylaw at the Regular Board Meeting on July 23, 2026.
Proposed Change
The amendment proposes restricting virtual attendance at Board meetings to illness or unsafe travel due to weather, replacing the broader use of electronic participation that has been allowed since COVID‑19 and returning to pre‑pandemic norms.
The amendment also proposes adding an updated elected officials’ oath of office to the Procedure Bylaw. The oath of office previously was approved by separate bylaw.
The Regional Board has approved the 2026 Peace River Regional District Board and Committee Meeting schedule. The Regional District holds one to two Board meetings each month, held on Thursdays starting at 10am (MST) unless otherwise noted.
The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is accepting applications from interested residents wishing to serve on the PRRD Board of Variance. The Regional Board will be appointing three members for a three-year term, ending in 2026.
Until further notice, and at the resolution of the Regional Board, the Peace River Regional District will consider, but is likely to reject or defer any application for Development Variance Permits, Temporary Use Permits, Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw Amendments and Zoning Bylaw Amendments for lands within the Old Fort Geohazard Study Area.
