The Peace River Regional District is currently accepting applications for a full-time permanent Field Services Labourer position.
Reporting to the General Manager of Environmental Services or designate, the Field Services Labourer position requires a self driven and motivated individual who is experienced in carpentry, water, wastewater, and building maintenance, and who can demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Upon further review, the prohibition applies only to a small portion of the Peace River Regional District located within Kakwa Provincial Park at its southern boundary. It does not apply to the rest of the PRRD. We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion.
As of May 6, 2026, there are no Category 2 or Category 3 open burning prohibitions in effect within the Peace River Regional District outside of Kakwa Provincial Park.
Over the past two weeks, several out-of-control burn pile incidents have occurred within the PRRD, threatening properties and requiring responses from municipal and rural fire departments, as well as BCWS. We join the Prince George Fire Centre in urging residents to use caution with open burning during this high-risk period between snowmelt and green-up.
The Boundary Lake Water Station at 1105 Cecil Lake Road will be temporarily closed from Monday, June 8 to Monday, June 22, 2026, as a result of scheduled maintenance by the water supply operator on their system.
The water station will reopen for regular service on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, unless otherwise posted.
Please note that the Feye Spring Water Station at 1863 Imperial Avenue will also be out of service from Monday, June 8, to Thursday, June 11, 2026.
We encourage residents to prepare water supplies in advance to help prevent shortages and to plan to use alternative stations during this time.

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is engaging Jackfish residents to review the results of a recent building condition assessment and provide input on the future of the Jackfish Community Hall, located at 1515 Old Jackfish Road. A community meeting is open to residents on May 12, 2026 from 6:30-8pm at the Chetwynd Recreation Centre, and an online survey is open now, until May 15, 2026.
The operation will take place any time after 18:00hrs (6pm) MST and is expected to continue throughout the month of May 2026, depending on weather and logistics, or until the burn area is completed. This prescribed burn is for cross-training and to mitigate roadside fuels hazards such as grasses and ladder fuels.
During this time, smoke may be visible from Saulteau First Nations, Moberly Lake and to travellers along Highway 29. Residents may also observe emergency vehicles, fire personnel and operational activity in the area.
Please be assured that this operation is planned, controlled and all reasonable measures will be taken to ensure it is carried out safely.
