Today, on Pink Shirt Day, the Peace River Regional District joins communities across Canada in standing firmly against bullying. This day started with two Nova Scotia students who chose kindness over silence in solidarity for a bullied classmate. It has since inspired people around the world. It is a powerful reminder that how we treat one another really matters.

The Peace River Regional District has launched a Solid Waste Network Assessment reviewing all garbage and recycling facilities to make sure the system works well for everyone across the region. The assessment will look at what parts of the network are working well and what can be improved.

A ‘push-in’ ceremony of the new fire truck happened this morning on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the City of Dawson Creek Fire Hall located at 10101 12A Street, Dawson Creek. The push-in ceremony is a longstanding fire service tradition in which firefighters push a new engine into the fire hall for the first time.
