Dawson Creek, BC – October 28, 2025 – Cleanfarms and the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) are pleased to announce the continuation of their successful program to recycle used agricultural twine and grain bags (large bags used to store crops post-harvest) once they’ve been used on the farm.

Since its launch in 2021, farmers in the region have demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable waste management, diverting over 55 tonnes of these items from landfills.

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is accepting applications from interested residents wishing to serve on the PRRD Board of Variance. The Regional Board will be appointing three members for a three-year term, ending in 2026.

Until further notice, and at the resolution of the Regional Board, the Peace River Regional District will consider, but is likely to reject or defer any application for Development Variance Permits, Temporary Use Permits, Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw Amendments and Zoning Bylaw Amendments for lands within the Old Fort Geohazard Study Area.
