PRRD Offices Closed on July 1 for Canada Day
The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) offices in Dawson Creek (1981 Alaska Avenue) and Fort St. John (9505 100 Street) are closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, for Canada Day. The PRRD offices reopen on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
While there are currently no open fire prohibitions and restrictions in the Peace River Regional District, wildfire prevention is still very important. Please do your part to keep our communities safe.
Wildfire Prevention Tips
- ATVs: Avoid dry areas. Carry a small fire extinguisher, shovel and pail to extinguish any sparks.
- Campfires and wind: No campfires when it is windy.
- Never leave a campfire alone: Make sure campfires are completely out and cool to the touch before you leave.
- Personal fireworks and firecrackers can easily create an uncontrolled situation that spark wildfires. Fireworks and firecrackers are strictly prohibited in regional parks. If you choose to use fireworks outside our parks, please follow all firework restrictions, never use them near dry vegetation, keep water nearby, fully extinguish used fireworks and report any fire immediately.
