BC Services Card App

ESS is made easier with the BC Services Card app on your smartphone. If you need to validate your BC Services Card app, please visit Service BC in Fort St. John during regular business hours.

If you have not already completed the validation process on the BC Service card app and want to access e-transfer, please visit the Service BC building (the courthouse building), hours 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. before visiting the reception centre.

We understand that each Emergency Support Services renewal can feel like another roadblock on the path to getting home. These supports are being extended for seven days because an exact timeline for the start and completion of reconstruction is not known, today. In their May 5th update, Ministry of Transportation has outlined some of their next steps as they prepare for the start of construction.

Current Situation

Movement has slowed and MOTT is planning to implement water-control measures and will continue to monitor the site. Once this is confirmed, they will work on establishing a temporary access route for residence.

This work will begin once conditions are dry enough to do so safely.

In the meantime, the ministry is securing equipment and materials, so work can begin without delay when conditions allow.

While movement is currently minimal, risk remains as water continues to enter the slide area from above the slope, saturating unstable material and increasing the potential for reactivation.

More images of the slide are available on the MOTT Old Fort Advisory page

It takes a lot of work, by a lot of different agencies and people, and we are grateful for these relationships and the work that everyone is doing.
