Old Fort Landslide Evacuation Order and Alert Update - April 27, 2026, 5:00pm

The evacuation orders and alerts around the slide area remain in place.

No access to:

• Old Fort Road (closed at the evacuation boundary)
• Community of Old Fort
• Old Fort Lookout

Stay away from and off the landslide. Ground movement continues, and the displaced road section has moved over 100m down the slope. Nobody should ever be near an active landslide; they are dangerous and constantly changing.

Do not park in the area, as vehicles can add to the instability. Please park to the west (Fort St. John side) of the traffic stop.

ESS renewals will happen on April 29. Those wishing to continue receiving ESS must renew that day. Further instructions to come tomorrow.

The PRRD Emergency Operations remains active to support the community and the Ministry of Transportation and Transit in responding to this slide.
