Notice of Proposed Procedure Bylaw Amendment
This is a public notice required by the Local Government Act.
The Regional Board will consider amending the Board Procedure Bylaw, at the Regular Board Meeting August 13, 2026.
Proposed Changes
The Board Procedure Bylaw as proposed includes the following:
- An oath of office to be sworn/affirmed by all incoming members of the Regional Board included in the Procedure Bylaw rather than in a separate Oath of Office bylaw
- Revised language clarifying voting procedures to allow for manual (by show of hands), or verbal voting on resolutions, should the default electronic voting system become unavailable
- Flexibility of the order of agenda items to allow for a more efficient flow of meeting agendas
- Clarifying language that gallery comments and delegations relating to land use applications that are subject to public hearing requirements are not permitted
- An ‘administrative fix’ clause to allow minor corrections such as spelling mistakes and numbering errors to bylaws after third reading or adoption.
Availability of Documents
The proposed Board Procedure Bylaw No. 2607, 2026, and the staff report will be available on the Peace River Regional District website (prrd.bc.ca) after 4:30 pm on August 7, 2026.
