Written Statement from Chair Sperling on Pink Shirt Day
Today, on Pink Shirt Day, the Peace River Regional District joins communities across Canada in standing firmly against bullying. This day started with two Nova Scotia students who chose kindness over silence in solidarity for a bullied classmate. It has since inspired people around the world. It is a powerful reminder that how we treat one another really matters.
The Peace region is a close community where the values of fairness and integrity are respected. No one should feel unsafe and unwelcome here. If you are experiencing bullying know that you are not alone and support is available - please reach out.
