Project Update: Rose Prairie Water Station Plan
The Peace River Regional District is actively searching for a new water source for the Rose Prairie Water Station, one of five bulk water stations in Electoral Area B.
At the end of November 2025, the PRRD successfully drilled a fourth well within the vicinity of the station. The well exceeded flow rate expectations and the water sample tests supported moving forward with further testing.
The pump tests on the fourth well installation were completed in January 2026 on schedule. The collected water samples have been sent for laboratory testing and further analysis on water quality. The well is sealed and the PRRD is awaiting sample results, expected by February 13, 2026.
Once the results are received, Tetra Tech will complete the analysis with the final memo presented to the Electoral Area Directors Committee (EDAC) on March 26, 2026.
PRRD Releases Regional Agricultural Emergency Response Plan
The Peace River Regional District has released a new, regional Agricultural Emergency Response Plan (AERP) to help farmers, producers and processors prepare for and respond to emergencies.
The plan covers emergency preparedness, response and recovery and is a guide for the agricultural sector across the region. It outlines emergency management in British Columbia and identifies key roles, responsibilities and contacts. The plan provides recommendations for action before, during and after emergencies, along with guidance for specific hazards.
