PRRD Hosting 15 Open Houses to Engage With Residents on the New Regional Zoning Bylaw Draft
The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is inviting the public to provide input on the draft Regional Zoning Bylaw at a series of open houses across the region. The new bylaw will simplify and update how land can be used to better support local people, farmers and businesses.
The new bylaw is still in draft form and resident feedback is needed before any next steps. The draft bylaw includes clearer zoning definitions, new zones, larger accessory building sizes, clearer regulations for home-based businesses, more types and increased number of dwelling units and more.
At the open houses, residents can see the new draft of the Regional Zoning Bylaw, look at zoning maps, ask questions and share comments with the project team.

Background
The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is working to replace five old zoning bylaws with one unified Regional Zoning Bylaw. A draft is ready, created with feedback from over 600 residents during the last community engagement. Residents expressed that they wanted bigger accessory buildings, more dwelling units, less regulation and fewer industrial-scale businesses in residential areas.
