PRRD bringing back popular grant writing information sessions and workshop for local non-profits and community groups

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is offering a series of free grant writing sessions this June as part of its Grant Writer Services Program, delivered through Clear Course in partnership with the Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) to support community groups in developing stronger, more competitive funding applications.

Since the program launched in 2021, Clear Course has helped 118 community groups in the Peace region secure over $11.7 million in funding, demonstrating the significant impact that strong grant writing skills can have in bringing local projects to life.

“The results speak for themselves—more than $11 million secured for 118 community groups shows what is possible when organizations have the right support,” said PRRD Board Chair Brad Sperling. “These sessions are about ensuring even more groups across the region have the tools and confidence to access funding and turn their ideas into reality.”

The sessions are open to community groups based within the PRRD and provide practical guidance on how to identify funding opportunities and prepare successful grant proposals.

Two learning opportunities are available:

Introductory Information Sessions

Two 90-minute online sessions will provide an overview of how grants work, how to search for funding opportunities, how to ensure projects are grant-ready and how to access the PRRD’s Grant Writing Services. Sessions are available:

*Participants must select one session to attend.

Advanced Workshop: How to Write a Successful Grant Proposal

A more in-depth, three-hour online workshop is available:

Participants must have prior grant writing experience or have completed the introductory session. The workshop will cover proposal guidelines, demonstrating need, required documentation, and budget development. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions.

All sessions will be delivered online using Zoom, with access details provided upon registration. Participants are encouraged to join early if they are unfamiliar with the platform. Phone attendance options are also available.

The sessions are presented by Clear Course on behalf of the PRRD. Funding is provided by the PRRD and NDIT.
