Sewer Connections

If you are building a new home within a Peace River Regional District sewer service area, you must apply for a sewer connection permit and must have your sewer system construction inspected at different stages. The sewer connection permit ensures that construction of your privately owned sewer infrastructure meets the requirements to connect to the public sewer system to protect you and the other residents from unnecessary service disruptions and sewer failures.

By obtaining a sewer connection permit, the PRRD will also have the details of the construction of your sewer system. This allows for more timely response to emergency situations such as identifying the location of shut-off values as well as protection infrastructure such as check-valves that prevent your sewer infrastructure from back-ups.
