Recreation Centres and Community Halls

The Peace River Regional District is proud to work cooperatively with our rural communities and member municipalities to support a variety of recreation facilities, community halls and grounds. These spaces are the heart of our region, offering versatile venues for gatherings, celebrations and events of all kinds.

Recreation Centres

Whether you're organizing a sports tournament, fitness class or recreational event, our recreation centres and arenas offer the ideal space to stay active and connect with the community. From ice skating and hockey games to indoor activities and family fun, these facilities support a wide range of recreational pursuits.

Located 45 minutes north of Fort St. John at 15251 Buick Creek Road, Buick, this arena features an NHL-size ice surface. It’s run by the Buick Creek Community Club and partially funded by the rural service area.

Just 40 minutes northeast of Fort St. John at 13772 223 Road, Goodlow, this arena is operated by the Clearview Arena Society and also supported by the rural service area.

Chetwynd and District Recreation Centre

Right in the heart of Chetwynd, the Chetwynd and District Recreation Centre offers something for everyone, preschoolers, youth and adults. It includes a recreation centre with an arena, a curling rink, multi-purpose rooms and a separate building with a leisure pool. Whether you’re into sports, swimming or community events, there’s plenty to enjoy.
