Pools and Swimming
The North Peace Leisure Pool and Chetwynd Recreation Centre are both aquatic facilities where you can swim and participate in all kinds of water-based activities in the Peace River Regional District. Whether you're looking to relax, exercise or enjoy a family outing, these pools provide a wide range of activities for you to enjoy.

North Peace Leisure Pool
Located at 9505 – 100 Street in Fort St. John, the North Peace Leisure Pool (NPLP) features a leisure pool, and a 25-meter lap pool. The leisure pool has a zero-depth entry at one end and a maximum depth of 1.5 meters at the other and includes waves, a rapid channel, and spray and squirt features. The lap pool has 6 lanes and is 1 meter deep at one end and 3.7 meters at the deep end, including diving platforms. Other amenities include two full sized water slides, sauna, steam room, family change rooms and a meeting room. Next to the leisure pool is a small bubble pool for children. The PRRD owns the facility, which is run by the City of Fort St. John.

The North Peace Leisure Pool Commission establishes policies, procedures and management goals and objectives for the operation of the facility.

Chetwynd and District Leisure Pool
Located at 4552 North Access Road, right in the heart of Chetwynd, the Chetwynd and District Recreation Centre offers a great leisure pool. This aquatic facility offers a hot tub, sauna, water slide, slide, viewing area, wave machine, change rooms and great programming for the whole family. The Chetwynd Civic Properties Commission is the administrative body that establishes policies, procedures and management goals and objectives for the operation of the facility.
