Search and Rescue Grants

Search and Rescue grant funding is included in the Health-Related Service Grant-in-Aid program. If your non-profit organization provides search and rescue services within the Peace River Regional District, you can apply for financial support. Funding is available to help cover operating costs and minor equipment or facility needs.

How to Apply

To apply, please email us your completed application before May 31 of the current year. Please note that we do not accept any late applications. You can also drop it off in person to: 

  • 1981 Alaska Avenue, Dawson Creek
  • 9505 100 Street, Fort St. John

All applicants must be a registered, not-for-profit society in good standing with the Societies Act of BC.

For organizations providing Air Ambulance services, you must:

  • Have an agreement with BC Ambulance
  • Submit meeting minutes from your annual general meeting, annual financial statements and a report outlining your Air Ambulance activities from the past year

For organizations providing Search and Rescue services, you must:

  • They must have at least one member who is certified, or in the process of becoming certified, as a ground search and rescue manager
  • They must submit meeting minutes from their annual general meeting, annual financial statements and a report on search and rescue activities from the past year, which must show how you used grant funds and if any funds remain
  • Have at least one representative attend the allocation meeting in July if one is held
