Rural Recreational and Cultural Grant-in-Aid

The Rural Recreational and Cultural Grant-in-Aid grant provides financial support to non-profit groups in the Peace River Regional District. If your organization is within Electoral Areas B, C, E or parts of D and E, this funding can help your organization cover costs for your day-to-day operations, projects and special events that focus on recreation, social activities or cultural activities. Applicants must: 

  • Be a rural not-for-profit registered society, which provides recreation, arts, sports and/or social activities for the community at large
  • Have at least 75 percent of the applicants’ membership must come from the rural areas which they serve
  • Provide proof that at least 75 percent of their membership comes from the electoral areas of the PRRD
  • Have received Recreational and Cultural Grants-in-Aid prior to 2012 to be grandfathered into the policy and will not be required to maintain a 75 percent rural membership

How to Apply

To apply, please email us your completed application before January 31 of the current year. Please note that we do not accept any late applications. You can also drop it off in person to:

By January 31 every year, you will need to complete an Annual Report that includes specific details about how your organization used the grant money. This includes updates on the progress of any projects, activities, initiatives or events funded. You must provide a breakdown of how the grant funds were spent, along with a summary of any capital or operational costs. If you paid for insurance using the grant, a copy of the invoice should be included as proof. The report must include photos of completed projects, especially capital projects, that were funded by the program.
