Canada Post Service Impacts

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (C.U.P.W.) has shifted from a full national strike to rotating strikes. This means Canada Post is still accepting and delivering mail in areas that are not striking, but you should still expect mail delays.

This slowdown could affect when you get important letters, including Utility Bills and Invoices.

Important Reminder on Payment Deadlines

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) reminds residents that you are still responsible for submitting all payments and applications on time. If your payment is late, you may have to pay a penalty or interest.

Paying Bills

If you think you have a bill, a payment coming due or an outstanding balance, please call or email our Finance team right away to confirm the exact amount you owe, the due date, and how you can pay:

Note: Outstanding utility balances you owe by December 31 will be added to your property taxes.

Payment Options

To avoid mail delays, you can pay via:

  1. Online Banking: Through your Financial Institution.
  2. In-person: During regular office hours (8:30am to 4:30pm) at:
    • 1981 Alaska Avenue in Dawson Creek
    • 9505 100 Street in Fort St. John

Receiving Payment (Vendors)

If you are a vendor who gets paid by the PRRD, you can sign up to get your money by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). This means the money goes straight to your bank account, and you avoid all mail delays.

Public Hearing Notices & Development Applications

Statutory notice for Public Hearings and Development Applications will be fulfilled by:

  • Posting signs on the site.
  • Notice on the PRRD's website and social media channels.
  • Other methods as needed to make sure residents are informed.

If you have questions these notices, please contact the Development Services Department at planning@prrd.bc.ca.
