The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is creating a list of qualified contractors and equipment owners for emergency services. We call on this list when we need quick help during emergencies.
Who We're Looking For
We need a variety of specialized contractors and equipment owners. This includes, but isn't limited to:
Specialized Contractors:
- Electricians
- Mechanical contractors
- Millwrights (with welding experience)
- Certified gas fitters
- Instrumentation technicians
- General contractors
Equipment Owners and Operators:
- Those specializing in water and sewer system maintenance and repair
- Excavating and trenching services
- Paving and concrete work
- Equipment rentals (with operators)
- Waste and wastewater hauling
How to Register
Submit a completed Hired Equipment/Contractor Registration form via the below channels. You can include photos of your equipment, but it's not required.

Registration Requirements
To be considered, contractors must meet the following:
- You must own or lease-to-own all equipment
- You must have a minimum of $5 million in liability insurance
- You must have WorkSafe BC coverage
Registration Procedure
The PRRD will create a call-out list based on the following:
- Proof of Insurance:
- Comprehensive general liability insurance covering:
- General liability
- Personal injury
- Property damage
- Vehicle insurance for all vehicles you intend to contract with the PRRD
- Please submit copies of all insurance documents
- Work Experience, Certifications, and References
- Rates: You must provide mandatory documentation for your rates
- Equipment Condition: We'll consider the working condition and age of your equipment
Important Note: Once hired, equipment and operators are expected to perform at a reasonable level. If performance is not acceptable, it could lead to temporary suspension or termination of services.
Fuel Consumption Data (For larger contracts)
For contracted services totaling over $25,000 per year, the PRRD must track emissions as required by the Climate Action Charter. This means we will ask contractors to provide the
