Building Inspections

In the Peace River Regional District, you must have your building project inspected throughout its construction process. This ensures that your project meets all safety and regulatory standards. We require inspections during different stages throughout a project, including but not limited to:

• Footings and foundation
• Framing
• Plumbing
• Insulation and vapor barrier
• Final inspection prior to occupancy

Before starting construction, please contact a building inspector to:

• Discuss the specific requirements for your project
• Confirm inspection points for your type of building
• Clarify any questions about the BC Building Code or the Building Bylaw

Booking an Inspection

To book an inspection, please email our Building Inspectors or call us at our toll-free number at 800-670-7773 at least 48 hours in advance. Please let us know your permit number, project details and the type of inspection required. Make sure that the site is ready and accessible for the inspector when they arrive.
