The Waste Management function operates regional landfills in Bessborough, Chetwynd and Fort St. John. Transtor facilities (large compacting garbage bins) are operated at Tumbler Ridge and Hudson's Hope. A Rural Landfill is in operation at Rose Prairie, and thirty-five transfer stations exist throughout the regional district. In total, the landfills receive 6,000 tonnes of waste, annually.
