Q & A
What is an OCP?
An Official Community Plan (OCP) is a provincially mandated, legal document that guides decisions on local development.
An OCP sets policy directions on:
- economic development
- transportation
- the environment
- residential, commercial, and industrial development

OCPs are updated regularly to reflect changing conditions such as population growth.
The Regional Board, development industry, and the public all use OCPs to guide development decision-making and provide consistency over time.
Who is Creating the OCP?
The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is directing this process.
Focus Corporation has been hired to guide and comlete the remaining OCP process including public consultation and plan development. Smart Growth Advisory Services and Ear to the Ground Planning assisted with the project start-up.
How Can I Get Involved?
Your voice matters!
As a community-based process, there will be regular opportunities for public involvement in the OCP process.
