The Planning Process

The planning process launched in the summer of 2008 and will continue through to the fall of 2010.

A Community Advisory Committee (CAC) has been formed to provide advice to the planning process. CAC members include industry and agriculture representatives, local interested citizens, community group representatives, and more. The Terms of Reference for the CAC have been approved by the Regional District Board.

Members of the CAC advise the Electoral Area Director, Regional District staff and consultants on the Official Community Plan (OCP) Process. Their responsibilities will include reviewing and advising on materials prepared in support of the OCP, including but not limited to: background data and reports; public, stakeholder and agency representations and submissions; content and policy directions; and drafts of the Plan. CAC members are the eyes and ears on the ground and they are a great resource for community members interested in the OCP project.
